One of these parks is the Chris Garrett Park, which covers nearly six acres of land along Birchwood Trail. It is a short walk from St. Mary Secondary School and is notable for its memorial statue.

The town’s canine residents are welcome to play and run free at the leash-free Cobourg Dog Park along Ontario Street. It spans eight acres and also features a walking trail and shade structures. At 55 King Street lies the 12-acre Victoria Park, which serves as Cobourg’s primary park. Several local events are held there, such as the Cobourg Highland Games and the Waterfront Festival.

People can sign up to participate in a number of competitive events– such as highland dancing– or simply enjoy the food, drinks, and atmosphere.
  • Northumberland RibFest and Music Festival:An annual fundraiser in support of the Rotary Club of Cobourg, RibFest is held at Victoria Park and involves three days of live music entertainment and mouth-watering barbecue, hence the name of the event. In addition to local and up-and-coming musicians, the best ribbers across North America fly to RibFest to showcase their BBQ and hopefully win a few awards.
  • Northumberland Rocks Back:One of Cobourg’s newer festivals, Northumberland Rocks Back was established in 2021 to support the projects of the Lions Club of Cobourg and Northumberland United Way.
